Artist Anne Kaye lives on Pender Island, one of the southern Gulf Islands between Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia, Canada.
INQUIRE
Anne’s studio looks out onto the Salish Sea, with islands stretching as far as Washington state. Surrounded by natural beauty, Anne began to paint, not what she saw through her studio window but the feeling her surroundings gave her.
Her work is from memory – the shapes, textures and colours she sees daily. Anne turns away from her studio window when she paints and free-forms her pieces from emotional memory. Her work is not “of” Pender Island but more “from” the island.
Anne’s work amplifies the colours of nature and honours nature’s power through her use of precise lines.
Anne’s work is held in private collections in North America, Australia, and Europe.
